Match Fishing & Competitions
The Warminster & District Angling Club hold numerous competitions throughout the year. We have season long and spring/summer competitions for all ages and angling types. We welcome all members to participate no matter your level of skill or angling knowledge providing you meet the criteria to enter the competition.
Competition Rules & Eligibility
Carp Cup
To enter you must be aged 16+. This cup is a season long competition starting June until April. There will be 6 match dates which will be held at Crockerton every 2 months on a Saturday and will last for 24hrs. Dates will be announced after every AGM in May. The cup will be scored on a total weight basis over the 6 matches and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.
Senior Cup
To enter you must be aged 60+ and drawing a pension. This cup is a seasonal cup fishing for silver fish only starting in June until October. There will be 5 match dates held at Crockerton once a month on a Tuesday. Each match will start at 9am for the swim draw and fishing from 10am-4pm. Match dates will be announced after every AGM in May. The cup will be scored on a total weight basis over the 5 matches and trophies will be awarded for the person with the highest total weight.
Specimen Trophy
The Specimen trophy is open to all members and is awarded to the member with the largest specimen fish. The winner will be decided by the committee after reviewing all the nominations.
Tench Trophy
The Tench trophy is open to all members and is awarded to the members that catches the heaviest Tench.
The Best Angler Award
The Best Angler award is open to all members and is awarded in 4 categories: Best angler male and female adult, best angler male and female junior. The award will be decided by the committee after receipt of all nominations.
The Bell Memorial Shield
The Bell Memorial is open to all anglers and is awarded to the member who catches the heaviest Roach.
The Jeff Allan Memorial Trophy
The Jeff Allen Memorial is open to all anglers. This competition is a one match cup that takes place over 5 hours on our river stretch or if the river is not fishable it will be held at Berkley. All species will be counted apart from Pike. The winner will be the member with the highest total weight.
The Presidents Cup
The Presidents Cup is open to all members and will be awarded to the member with the most outstanding contribution to the club. The cup will be decided and awarded by the clubs President.
